Dreampeace (Devin Townsend’s project) to release new album ‘Harmonic Dharma’

Author Benedetta Baldin - 10.10.2026

Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer Devin Townsend has announced that his new album “Harmonic Dharma” will be released on Friday, October 16 under the Dreampeace label in honour of World Mental Health Day, as per Blabbermouth. Having battled insomnia for many years, Devin founded Dreampeace in an effort to promote peaceful sleep and, ideally, improve the lives of those who find it difficult to relax. Townsend made the decision to first distribute “Harmonic Dharma” as a limited-edition CD, which could be found on his just finished European “Metamorphosis” tour, a 23-date acoustic and narrative run that took place in ten different countries. Prior to the album’s October 16 release on all streaming services, all remaining copies are currently being given to Devin’s Patreon community.

This is music to create balance within oneself and the world…

As you guys know, making ‘The Moth’ album, was so creatively and logistically ambitious, it took me mentally to a challenging place on so many occasions. After it was completed, I went on retreat for a month to re-center myself. This Dreampeace album is one of the many nourishing harvests from that much needed spiritual journey.

My aim with this music is to provide a soundtrack for anxious minds. And I sincerely hope it brings you the peace it has brought me.

InsideOut Music released “The Moth” in May. Over ten years ago, this 24-track album was just an idea. Townsend thought of it as his “life’s work” at the back of his mind. The head of the Noord Nederlands Orkest (North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra) then made Townsend an offer to add orchestral majesty to Devin‘s vast record approximately six years ago following an acoustic performance in Amsterdam.

Townsend is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and visionary artist with a background in orchestral rock, ambient music, and extreme metal. Townsend‘s work is renowned for its grandeur, humour, and emotional intensity, from his early days as the leader of Strapping Young Lad to his extensive solo career. His ability to alternate between terrible brutality and ethereal beauty is demonstrated by albums such as “Ocean Machine” (1997), “Empath” (2019), and “Lightwork” (2022). Townsend has established himself as one of progressive metal’s most distinctive voices thanks to his passionate fan base and potent live performances.
