The summer heat at Idroscalo paired perfectly with the intense, sweaty energy of a packed crowd eager to witness the mathcore pioneers after a long absence from Italy. Excellent supporting sets from Crouch, Boneflower, and a devastatingly heavy performance by UK’s Heriot built the ideal momentum before the main act took the stage. Converge proved once again why they remain the undisputed kings of the underground heavy music scene, and this show at Circolo Magnolia was a definite testament.
