Your Broken Hero have released their latest single, “Fantasy,” featuring August Burns Red frontman Jake Luhrs. The track fuses pop-punk emotion with metalcore grit, creating the kind of crossover that defines the project’s style. A music video premiered through the Emo’s Not Dead platform, and the single is now streaming everywhere.

What began as one lighthearted video by creator and musician Matt Cutshall soon grew into a 32-part “felt emo might delete” series, leading to the birth of Emo’s Not Dead. Since then, the project has exploded to over 600 million views. It has also spawned four sold-out Emo’s Not Dead cruises and a full-length album that brought together a worldwide emo community.

In 2023, Cutshall launched a massively successful Kickstarter to fund “Your Broken Hero: The End?”. The campaign featured guests like Spencer Chamberlain and Aaron Gillespie of Underoath, Pierre Bouvier of Simple Plan, Jordan Pundik of New Found Glory, Buddy Nielsen of Senses Fail, and Secondhand Serenade. As a result, the album became a huge moment for fans. Now, “Fantasy” offers the first look at what comes next. It introduces a new era built on that success, with even bolder collaborations and sharper songwriting.

Cutshall has also revealed plans for “Your Broken Hero: Pop Goes Emo,” a follow-up album produced with Andrew Goldstein (known for Blackbear, 5 Seconds of Summer, and All Time Low) and Hans Hessburg. The record will reimagine iconic pop songs through emo and pop-punk aesthetics. Therefore, it promises to keep the genre’s heart alive while pushing it into fresh territory.
