Mammoth WVH, the new band formed by Wolfgang Van Halen, played their first show on July 27 at the Bottleneck Night Club in Lawrence, Kan. The gig was a surprise show, announced just one day before the actual event, but even then – the concert was fully attended.

The setlist was fully made up of songs from the band’s self-titled debut album. The night began on an emphatic note with the song “Don’t Back Down”, continuing with songs like “Mr. Ed”, “Mammoth” and “Think it Over”. And, as fans were hoping, the highlight of the concert was the performance of the song “Distance” – a dedication to Wolfgang’s father Eddie Van Halen.
