Reprise/Warner Records will release Weezer‘s most recent self-titled album on August 21. The lead track, “We Might As Well Be Strangers,” which has Rivers Cuomo and company working with Wednesday‘s Karly Hartzman, is the highlight of what is unofficially known as “The Gold Album”. Watch it below or stream it here. Weezer emerged from the back-to-basics sessions with all four members of the group—Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell, and Scott Shriner—at their practice space. It was their 16th studio album and 20th overall. According to a press release, this caused Cuomo and Wilson to compose the “basics of a song” for the first time since their debut album.
