Vulvodynia announce new single “Twin Tyrants”

On September 8th, Vulvodynia, a brutal deathcore band from South Africa, will introduce their new lineup in a studio, as per theprp. Last month, the group welcomed Maya Pobst as their newest vocalist after splitting from their previous two vocalists amid controversy and accusations. The South African deathcore group Vulvodynia was founded in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, in 2014. The current lineup of the band is drummer Thomas Hughes, bassist Nate Gilbert, and guitarists Lwandile Prusent, Luke Haarhoff, and Kris Xenopoulos. “Entabeni”, the band’s most recent studio album, was released on July 5, 2024, by Unique Leader Records. Additionally, three EPs and three split EPs have been issued by them. Unique Leader Records currently has a contract with them.

Luke Haarhoff, 16, and Duncan Bentley, 19, founded Vulvodynia in the beginning of 2014. In May 2014, the band released their first EP, “Lord of Plagues”. Byron Dunwoody, who produced the EP, would soon become the band’s second guitarist. The band signed with the Australian label Vicious Instinct Records in August 2014, and in October of that same year, they released their debut album, “Cognisant Castigation”. “Slashing Through the Snow”, the band’s split EP with Cunt Cuntly, Before the Harvest, Cerebus, Bationmaster, and The Cake Is a Lie, was released in December 2014. The band assembled a full lineup to start travelling in 2015.

“Finis Omnium Ignorantiam”, the band’s second EP, and “Astral Evisceration on All Hallows Eve”, a split with Cunt Cuntly, Before the Harvest, The Overmind, Chamber of Malice, Despondent, Become the Watcher, and Existence Has Failed, were also released. On June 30, 2016, the group’s second studio album, “Psychosadistic Design”, was published by the Czech label Lacerated Enemy Records. Rerecorded songs from the “Lord of Plagues” EP are included on the CD.
