Three dates into their U.S. tour, world class Danish hard rock band Volbeat have announced that their drummer Jon Larsen has tested positive for COVID-19. The announcement was followed by the cancellation of their planned show last night (January 28th) in Boise, Idaho. Co-headliners Ghost and openers Twin Temple still played last night’s show as planned.
In a statement issued today, Volbeat revealed that former Slayer drummer Jon Dette has been recruited to fill in for Larsen until he is cleared to resume touring. Dette wis set to begin tonight, January 29th, in Portland, Oregon.
