Volbeat have just shared that they have canceled their upcoming appearance at Hellfest in France.
Here’s the statement from the festival:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Volbeat will not be able to perform at Hellfest this year.
Here is the band’s statement on the matter: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Volbeat will not be able to perform at this year’s Hellfest. We’re sorry to be missing everyone there and hope to make it up to everyone in the future.”
We would like to thank BEHEMOTH for agreeing to move to Mainstage 2 during this same time slot. The band promises an exceptional show, undoubtedly filled with fire, to close out Saturday’s lineup. To avoid any scheduling conflicts, we have chosen not to schedule another band on the Temple stage during this time slot.

The Danish rock group Volbeat was founded in Copenhagen in 2001. They perform a combination of heavy metal and rock and roll. Lead singer and guitarist Michael Poulsen, drummer Jon Larsen, bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen, and guitarist Flemming C. Lund make up their current lineup. Currently signed to the Dutch company Mascot Records, the band has put out one DVD and nine studio albums. 2005 saw the release of Volbeat‘s first studio album, “The Strength/The Sound/The Songs.” “Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil” (2007), the band’s second album, was certified platinum. Their third album, “Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood” (2008), reached the top of the Danish album chart, while their 2010 album “Beyond Hell/Above Heaven” received high praise from critics worldwide.
