Linkin Park, which had recently gotten back together, made their debut on late-night television on September 17th, when they appeared as the musical guest. The trio performed the first single from the album, “The Emptiness Machine,” on the show as they prepared for the release of their return album, “From Zero,” on November 15th. Mike Shinoda, guitarist and vocalist, participated in an interview section as well. The band, which plays nü-metal and alternative rock, resumed their career earlier this month with the return of Mike Shinoda, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, the bassist and vocalist, and Joe Hahn, the turntablist and vocalist, among other members. Brad Delson, the band’s guitarist, still works in the studio, but Alex Feder now fills his shoes live. Emily Armstrong, a vocalist, has assumed the lead vocal position previously occupied by Chester Bennington, while drummer Colin Brittain is filling in for Rob Bourdon.
