Video footage available of Anthrax performing with a different drummer

Author Benedetta Baldin - 24.5.2026

For the band’s performance on Saturday night (May 23) at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA) in Athens, Greece, Anthrax hired renowned session drummer Darby Todd from the United Kingdom to play behind the kit as Iron Maiden’s support act, as per Blabbermouth. Below is a fan-filmed video of the performance. Charlie Benante, a long-time drummer for Anthrax, was reportedly unable to attend the Athens performance because of his touring obligations with Pantera, who will accompany Metallica on Sunday, May 24 in Frankfurt, Germany. Darby has performed with The Darkness, Martin Barre, Alan Price, Gary Moore, Kee Marcello (Europe), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow), Carl Verheyen, Robert Plant, Robben Ford, Paul Gilbert, and many more in addition to travelling the world with Devin Townsend.
