Three Days Grace have temporarily changed their touring lineup after drummer Neil Sanderson suffered a serious arm injury. Former Breaking Benjamin drummer Shaun Foist has been brought in to cover the drum parts during the band’s ongoing Alienation tour.
In a video update posted on October 23, Sanderson explained that he had ruptured a biceps tendon during outdoor activities. He said surgery was scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, and that he would be unable to play drums while recovering.
The drummer does not intend to disappear from the tour entirely. According to the announcement, Sanderson expects to join the band on keyboards and backing vocals at most of the remaining concerts, though he will miss the Houston, San Antonio and Rogers dates.
The North American shows are continuing with I Prevail and The Funeral Portrait on the bill. The personnel change concerns the band’s live performances and is not an announcement of Sanderson’s departure from Three Days Grace.
