Recent updates from the Bad Wolves camp indicate that drummer John Boecklin is once again restructuring the band, this time with a new female lead vocalist and additional lineup changes, as per theprp. An unsuccessful bid of one million dollars to acquire the band’s name and rights was reported, leading former vocalist Tommy Vext to disclose that a new female vocalist has been secured. Vext, who aimed to relaunch the band with ex-guitarist Chris Cain, also revealed that the new lineup includes Javier Reyes, guitarist of Animals As Leaders.
With several members departing—guitarists Doc Coyle and Chris Cain, bassist/vocalist Kyle Konkiel, and vocalist/guitarist Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz—the current band roster consists of Boecklin, guitarist AJ Rebollo, and bassist Kevin Creekman. Recent social media hints suggest that Killboy has assumed the role of frontwoman for the band. Suspicion among fans regarding her alleged involvement with the band continues to intensify, as various seemingly significant clues have surfaced on social media platforms.
Killboy initially hinted on social media that she had joined a new musical group, although she did not disclose specific details at that time. Subsequent posts reveal her referring to her new spider pet as ‘Wolfie,’ with the spider’s habitat allegedly visible in a recent studio image shared by Rebollo on social media. Further analysis of fan observations concerning the potential addition to the band’s lineup can be found on the band’s subreddit. Additionally, the official Instagram account of Bad Wolves is currently following Killboy, which may suggest a connection.
Originally from a small border town in between Texas and Arkansas, Killboy woke up the day of her last semester of college, packed everything she owned into her Honda Crosstour and drove 24 hours to Los Angeles – safe to say she didn’t make it to school that day. Skateboarding from session to session since 2017, Killboy went essentially under the radar until she was discovered and signed to BEAT HOUSE founded by Tiffany Kumar, Spotify’s former Global Head of Songwriter Relations in October 2019. Killboy brings a unique skill set to her studio sessions. She makes her own beats, engineers her own vocals, plays keys and guitar, effortlessly hits vocal runs and creates pop magic.
