The National release new single “Somebody Desperate” from the soundtrack of “Cyrano”

The National have released a new song called “Somebody Desperate“. The song is part of the soundtrack for the film “Cyrano”. You can check out the lyric video below:

The National comment on their new single as follows:

“We are pleased to share our first new song in quite some time, ‘Somebody Desperate,’ as featured in the end credits of Cyrano Movie. ‘Somebody Desperate’ was written by Bryce, Aaron and Matt, and recorded by The National at Long Pond in April 2021. ‘Somebody Desperate’ and the other original songs featured in the movie were the result of a rich collaboration over the last few years with screenwriter Erica Schmidt and director Joe Wright. We are proud of our musical contribution to this timeless love story which, in addition to the songs, features a score composed by Bryce and Aaron. We can’t wait for all of you to watch Joe’s beautiful film, which opens in Los Angeles later this month and everywhere in January and February. You can listen to ‘Somebody Desperate’ now on all streaming services and hear it when you order the official Cyrano soundtrack, written and composed by Bryce Dessner & Aaron Dessner, with lyrics from Matt Berninger & Carin Besser.
