The Mission cancel their show in Kansas City, due to broken tour bus

The British gothic rock legends The Mission, who are currently touring the US with Chameleons and Theatre Of Hate, had to cancel their show on 1 October 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri at short notice. In a statement signed by all three bands, a broken tour bus is cited as the reason:

“It is with huge disappointment that we have to announce the Deja Vu Tour featuring The Mission, Chameleons, & Theatre of Hate has ground to a temporary halt here in Denver, where we played last night. We were very fortunate to actually make it to to Denver, in fact, and we’re very glad we could play the show. However, our tour bus has broken down – we’ll spare you the boring technical details – and even though we are trying to get it fixed today we’re not having much luck as it as Sunday and most businesses are closed today. It looks likely we won’t be able to get it fixed until Monday morning at the earliest. We are doing our damnedest but it really is beyond our control. So sadly this unfolding scenario means that we have to cancel our show tonight , Sunday 1st October, in Kansas City, Missouri. To say we are upset is an understatement as we all hate having to cancel shows, for whatever reason, and Kansas City was one we were particularly looking forward to as it is a city none of us had visited very often before, and never in some cases. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused, and we’d like to say that all three bands would like to make it back to Kansas City in the near future. Again, our profuse apologies to our people in Kansas City. […] We are hoping the bus can be fixed tomorrow, Monday, and then we’ll be on our way to reconvene the Deja Vu Tour at the PNA Hall in Minneapolis, Mn, on Tuesday 3rd October. We’ll keep you updated. Thank you for your understanding, The Mission, Chameleons, and Theatre Of Hate.”
