The headliner of Næstved Metalfest 2026 is none other than Dutch legends The Gathering, who will perform a special concert focusing on their iconic masterpiece “Mandylion”.
The Gathering and this very album, originally released 31 years ago, became the soundtrack of an entire generation. With Anneke van Giersbergen back at the helm, this promises to be an extraordinary experience at the historic barracks – and one that will undoubtedly bring tears to many eyes in the audience.
Brazilian death/thrash act The Troops Of Doom, featuring former members of Sepultura as the name suggests, are also confirmed. Expect a powerful set consisting of new material as well as Sepultura classics such as “Morbid Visions”, “Crucifixion” and “Troops Of Doom”.
Danish black metal is thriving, and two of last year’s most critically acclaimed albums were delivered by Sunken and Frelser. We are proud to welcome both bands to Næstved. The audience can expect intense and uncompromising performances from both acts.
On the more melodic side of the spectrum, Italian melodic symphonic metal band Hypersonic will replace Norwegian Confidential on the bill.
Last but not least, Steffen Jungersen returns with yet another talk in Skyttegraven. As always, it will be highly entertaining when “Dr. Rock” shares anecdotes and backstage stories from a lifetime in rock and metal.
