The collab we didn’t know we needed: Meshuggah and Transformers

Meshuggah and the Transformers franchise have established a new partnership, as per theprp. As part of the current 40th anniversary celebrations for the animated feature film “The Transformers: The Movie” from 1986, the union has been announced. A metal/hard rock version of the movie’s soundtrack is scheduled to be released this Friday, July 24th, as a result of that milestone. The Reigning Phoenix Music/Stern Pinball booth #4029 at this week’s “San Diego Comic-Con” will sell this new shirt, which is a riff on Meshuggah‘s 1995 sophomore album “Destroy Erase Improve.” Meshuggah‘s drummer Tomas Haake and guitarist Mühlten Hagström will be present at the booth this Friday, July 24th, at 03:30pm to participate in a signing event for fans.

A newly remastered 30th pressing of “Destroy Erase Improve” and a newly remastered 20th anniversary pressing of Meshuggah‘s fifth album, “Catch Thirtythree,” were released in April of this year in honour of Record Store Day. Along with CD and additional vinyl pressings, each of those sonically altered records will now be available online this Friday, July 24. Additionally, each of those LPs will be available exclusively at the aforementioned booth this weekend on a brand-new splatter vinyl pressing.

The Swedish extreme metal group Meshuggah was founded in Umeå in 1987. Jens Kidman (lead vocals) and Fredrik Thordendal (lead guitar), along with rhythm guitarist Mühlten Hagström, drummer Tomas Haake, and bassist Dick Lěgren, have been the band’s founding members since 2004. The group has put out eight music videos, six EPs, and nine studio albums since its founding. Atomic Fire Records published their most recent studio album, “Immutable”, in April 2022.
