The Amity Affliction’s new album to be released in April

“House Of Cards,” The Amity Affliction‘s ninth studio album, will be released by Pure Noise Records on April 24th, 2026, as per theprp. The music video for the album’s title track, which was filmed by Daniel Daly, has just been posted online. This new album is the band’s first release following their acrimonious breakup with their former bassist/vocalist Ahren Stringer, as devoted fans are undoubtedly aware. Since then, Jonny Reeves of Kingdom of Giants fame has assumed that position within the organization. Vocalist Joel Birch found inspiration for the title tune for this new album from a complex relationship he and his brothers had with their late mother.

Our mother died in 2024 and none of us had a healthy relationship with her. She was very self-involved, aggressive, abusive in our early years, and in her later years, spent a good amount of time trying to put a wedge between the three of us. Thankfully, once she passed, the three of us actually became closer as we realized we had individual, but shared trauma related to her.
