Sunny Day Real Estate unveils “Diary” 30th anniversary tour and first new song in 10 years

American rock band Sunny Day Real Estate has announced a tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of 1994’s “Diary”. Tickets go on sale Friday (1/26) at 10 AM with presales starting Tuesday (1/23) at 10 AM.

The group also announced “Diary – Live At London Bridge Studio”, a live studio version of “Diary” that includes the outfit’s first new song in 10 years, “Novum Vetus“.

According to a press release, the more than seven-minute song was conceived during the recording sessions for 1998’s “How It Feels To Be Something On” and was recorded by original members Jeremy Enigk, Dan Hoerner and William Goldsmith at Seattle’s London Bridge Studio with Greg Suran and Chris Jordan during the same sessions that produced the new live-in-studio recordings of “Diary”. The album will be released on May 3, and “Novum Vetus” arrives in stores this Friday (1/26), the same day pre-orders for the album go live.
