Alkaline Trio announces new LP “Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs”, reveals 2024 tour dates

Author Hernan Osuna - 20.10.2023

American punk rock band Alkaline Trio have announced their first studio album in six years, “Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs”, to be released on 26 January 2024 through Rise Records. Along with the announcement, they also revealed plans for a 2024 North American tour with Drug Church and dropped the lead single “Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs“. Watch the official music video below.

The album is the group’s first since Matt Skiba left Blink-182, and the last with longtime drummer Derek Grant (who has since been replaced by Atom Willard of Against Me!, Angels & Airwaves, etc.). “Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs” was produced by former collaborator Cameron Webb and recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606.

My mom worked for years as an emergency room nurse,” comments Matt of the album and song name. “She and her co-workers referred to exceptionally busy nights as ‘blood, hair, and eyeballs’. Well, we’ve been busy making an exceptional record we refer to as Blood, Hair, And Eyeballs, too.

Skibba adds: “We approached this new record in completely new ways. We built the songs together, from the ground up, in the same room which hasn’t happened since the band started. Usually, we start with an idea somebody’s already written. This time, we had the unique opportunity to build the songs onto drums recorded at Studio 606 onto two-inch tape using one of the most beautiful-sounding and legendary consoles in rock. It has almost everything to do with how our new record sounds.”
