At the beginning of 2021, Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), bassist of the supergroup Deadland Ritual, revealed that the band will be calling it quits. Deadland Ritual released two singles during their short life; “Down In Flames” in 2018 and “Broken And Bruised” in 2019.

Formed in 2018, Butler was joined by former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum, Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens and Apocalyptica touring vocalist Franky Perez.

Now, on a recent SiriusXM radio show, “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk”, Stevens explains why the band decided to call it quits.

“It was really difficult. We were about to sign a deal. We went out and toured Europe. We’re all seasoned musicians and we’re used to a certain lifestyle, and here we were having to open. We did a number of festival dates and small club dates. Initially, everyone said they were willing to do that, willing to get in the trenches. When reality hit and there was crappy food and crappy hotels and all that kind of stuff, I think people lost interest.”
