The ninth studio album by Staind is finished and is expected to be released in early 2027, as per Blabbermouth. Staind guitarist Mike Mushok revealed the details of the band’s upcoming album during an interview at this weekend’s Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio. The album will be the follow-up to Staind‘s first album in twelve years, “Confessions Of The Fallen,” which was released in September 2023 via Alchemy Recordings/BMG. Mike made this statement in an interview with Thick Rick and Aaron “Goose” Seller of 99.7 The Blitz.

We have a new record that’s actually done. It won’t be out this year, I don’t think.

Since 1995, Staind has put out eight albums, including the self-titled album from 2011. The Top 10 hit “It’s Been Awhile” from the No. 1 album “Break The Cycle” is only one of the band’s many successful songs from its first twenty years of existence. The subsequent albums “Chapter V” and “14 Shades of Grey” both peaked at the top of the Billboard chart. “Live: It’s Been Awhile,” Staind’s first album in nine years, was released by Yap’em/Alchemy Recordings in May 2021. In collaboration with Danny Wimmer Presents, “The Return Of Staind” was a two-part worldwide streaming series that followed the “Live: It’s Been Awhile” album.

On Billboard’s Active Rock Album list, “Confessions Of The Fallen” peaked at number one. Both the album’s first song, “Lowest In Me,” and its second single, “Here And Now,” peaked at number one on the Active Rock Chart. A year later, in September 2024, Staind digitally published “Confessions Of The Fallen (Deluxe),” which included three more songs: “Full Of Emptiness” and “Better Days Feat. Dorothy,” a radio version of the album track.

The group has won several prizes, including the Billboard Music prizes and the MTV Video Music Awards, and has been referred to as one of the key bands of the post-grunge trend.
