Spotify to launch game-changing program that rewards music listeners with show tickets

The goal of Spotify’s new ticketing benefit, “Reserved,” is to increase the number of tickets that real fans can purchase, as per Lambgoat. For qualified Spotify Premium customers (18+) in the United States, the initiative will launch this summer. An artist’s top listeners will be identified by Spotify based on engagement (streams, shares, and other activity), and up to two tickets will be held for them over a restricted window of time (usually one day) prior to the general onsale. Additionally, Spotify says they will keep an eye out for questionable activities and bots. Spotify doesn’t charge extra, but not every “superfan” will receive an offer, and availability will vary by artist, tour, and city. Fans must have Live Events/location settings and notifications enabled in order to receive notifications via email and in-app alerts. More infos can be found at this link.

In April 2006, businesspeople Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon established Spotify, a Swedish music streaming service. With over 761 million monthly active users, including 293 million paid members, it was one of the biggest suppliers of music streaming services as of March 2026. American depositary receipts are used to list Spotify on the New York Stock Exchange. More than 100 million songs and more than 7 million podcast items from record labels and media businesses are available on Spotify as DRM-protected audio content. Functioning as a freemium service, further features are available through paid subscriptions, while the fundamental capabilities are free with limited control and adverts. In addition to creating, editing, and sharing playlists, users may search for music by artist, album, or genre.

It provides a few social media functions, including texting, making profiles, following friends, sharing playlists, and organising “Jams”—listening parties. As of December 2022, Spotify is accessible in 184 markets, including the majority of Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania.
