Spinal Tap sequel to premiere this Autumn – watch the first teaser

The 1984 cult classic This Is Spinal Tap will get a sequel in September when Spinal Tap II: The End Continues premieres this fall. The mockumentary, directed by Rob Reiner, tells the story of the fictional Spinal Tap band’s return after a 15-year hiatus for one final concert.

The first teaser trailer for the film has been released and recalls one of the most famous scenes from the original film, where Nigel Tufnel shows off the amplifiers that go over 11. This time, the volume even reaches “infinity”.

The original This Is Spinal Tap will also get a new theatrical release in the summer of 2025 in a remastered version, and will also be available on streaming services for the first time in years.

The film stars Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer and Rob Reiner from the original. The film also features many guest stars, including Elton John, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks and Lars Ulrich.
