Joel Martorana and Jem Siow founded Your Ghost Is a Gift in the late 2000s. Siow was the lead guitarist for the group. Before disbanding in 2019, the band released two studio albums and five extended plays (EPs) under the new name Endless Heights in 2009. In the same year, Siow formed Speed with his brother Aaron Siow, Josh Clayton, Dennis Vichidvongsa, and Kane Vardon. Speed released a demo EP on Last Ride Records in October of 2019. Flatspot Records signed the group in April of the following year. The band’s single “A Dumb Dog Gets Flogged” was released in June 2020. “A Dumb Dog Gets Flogged” and “Devil U Know” make up their two-song EP 2020 “Flex”, which was released later that month.
