Nü-metal band SickSense, featuring members from Stuck Mojo and ex-The Agonist, has released “Masquerade Parade“, the third single from their debut album “Cross Me Twice”, along with a brand-new music video. Co-vocalist Rob The Ripper explained the song’s themes, saying:
“Masquerade Parade is a critical look at modern health practices, the pharmaceutical industry, and politics. It’s a warning about being cautious of who you trust. Often, those who claim to have our best interests don’t. Don’t be fooled.”
Visually, the band aimed to create a dynamic story using practical effects, acting, and seamless transitions to mimic a parade’s progression. The video introduces supernatural characters—Vicky, Deli The Bear, and Rob—where Vicky’s character triggers Rob’s dark side by manipulating an hourglass. This shift leads Rob to confront his bandmates until Vicky gradually revives each one by returning their instruments. United, the band overcomes their “enemy”—but raises the question: was the villain really a threat, or simply set up to look like one?
Fellow vocalist Killer V shared her favorite aspect of the video:
“I love how the band members ‘wake up’ when they’re handed their instruments. We initially came up with this as a joke, but it fit perfectly. Music heals and unites, both for musicians and fans, making it the ideal symbol of our message. Even in our darkest songs, SickSense aims to share something positive. Filming-wise, the first two choruses are a single continuous shot, which was a challenge but rewarding to get right. This video and song are our favorites so far.”
“Cross Me Twice” is set for release via Earache Records on February 14th.
