Sharon Osbourne reveals more details about Ozzfest and shares her thoughts about Ozzy’s AI avatar

Ozzy Osbourne’s manager and widow, Sharon Osbourne, spoke about the much anticipated return of Ozzfest in a recent interview with Metal Hammer magazine in the United Kingdom, as per Blabbermouth. Sharon reaffirmed her intention to bring back Ozzfest the following year, stating that it will begin at Villa Park, the home field of the Aston Villa Football Club in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

It’s going to be at Villa Park again, whether it’ll be two nights [in Birmingham], that’s up for the fans to tell me.

Sharon also talked about the upcoming theatrical release of the live performance film “Back To The Beginning.” Ozzy and Black Sabbath‘s final live send-off was an all-star spectacle, as per theprp. That movie was in development, as was revealed in July of last year. Sharon claims that it will be released later this year. Sharon also discussed the controversy surrounding the family’s ambitions to develop a life-size artificial intelligence (AI) digital avatar of Ozzy, which will appear later this year with Proto Luma’s holoportation technology. Reactions to that endeavour have been diverse, and in this most recent conversation, Sharon defended the choice once more.

I’ve seen such shit online about it being a ‘money grab’. Why would I need to do that? It’s not as if I’m using Ozzy to sell fucking weedkiller or beer. Ozzy loved the idea. We’ve been talking about it for 10 years. Ozzy has this great body of work that took a lifetime to do – why shouldn’t he still be seen? 

Why should we have to watch the same videos over and over again, when there’s technology available that means we don’t have to? If you don’t like it, don’t go see it. I’m not at people’s houses with a fucking gun, going, ‘Give me your money!
