The music video for “Longshot” from Saliva’s next album “Breaking Through” has been published, as per theprp. On this new song, the platinum-certified nü-metal/hard rock group invited Johnny Van Zant, the frontman of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Director Thomas Crane’s video for it is currently available to watch below. Van Zant is one of three guests on that record, along with former Hinder frontman Austin John Winkler and Trevor Mcnevan of Thousand Foot Krutch. Judge and Jury Records has scheduled the 13-song album’s release for August 14.
The American rock group Saliva was founded in 1996 in Memphis, Tennessee. Lead vocalist Josey Scott, lead guitarist Wayne Swinny, rhythm guitarist Chris D’Abaldo, bassist Dave Novotny, and drummer Paul Crosby made comprised their most well-known band, which performed from 2000 to 2005. Since Swinny’s death in 2023, the band’s lineup has changed several times, and no original members are still with the group. They have received one MTV Music Video Award and six Grammy nominations. Saliva signed with Island Records and released their second studio album, “Every Six Seconds”, which was their commercial breakthrough, following the release of their self-titled debut album in 1997.
“Back into Your System”, their third studio album, was released in 2002 and peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200. “Back into Your System” introduced “Always,” one of Saliva‘s most popular tracks, which peaked at No. 1 on the Modern Rock Chart and No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2007, Saliva released “Blood Stained Love Story”, which repeated “Back into Your System”‘s chart success at No. 19 on the Billboard 200, three years after their fourth album “Survival of the Sickest”. “Ladies and Gentlemen,” the album’s debut song, reached at No. 2 on the Mainstream Rock Chart. Since then, the group has put out six more studio albums, the most latest of which, “Revelation”, came out in 2023.
