Rob Zombie and Motörhead’s Lemmy to appear in a video game

The video game “World Of Tanks” by Wargaming already featured the band Sabaton, Megadeth‘s Vic Rattlehead and Iron Maiden‘s Eddie in their game, but this year the new video game “World Of Tanks Modern Armor” will feature Rob Zombie and Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister from Motörhead.

The video game’s audio director Bredan Bleweet commented:

Motörhead guided the development of both the Warpig and Lemmy voices. For Lemmy, it was obvious that using a sound-alike would lack an important level of authenticity. So, we collaborated with the band to create an A.I. emulation of Lemmy’s voice, based on original voice samples from his private unpublished archives, including interviews and raw in-booth recordings.”

Lemmy, Warpig and Rob Zombie will be appearing as 3D commanders in the game from July 30th through August 20th as a part of this year’s “Metal Fest” event in the game. Previously added figures of Iron Maiden, Megadeth and Sabaton will also be available again in the game as part of this event. More details can be found via worldoftanks.com.
