In an act of support, Blythe asked Jessyca, a single mother suffering from stage 4 breast cancer, to shave his head backstage at the event. Blythe called her out and led the audience in another cancer chant. received gifts and stage-used artefacts as well as VIP treatment from the group.

He put his GRAMMY medallion up for sale in 2018 to support research on myontonic muscular dystrophy. In a touching turn of events, the same medallion was given to a fundraising effort for Blythe’s sister-in-law’s fight against breast cancer. Additionally, Blythe previously honoured Wayne Ford, a fan of Lamb of God, with the band’s 2016 song “The Duke.” Ford tragically died after fighting leukaemia.
