German industrial metal titans Rammstein have shared a live video performance of their track “Armee der Tristen,” offering fans a first look at their upcoming concert film, Rammstein – Live In Mexico City, as per theprp. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Paul Dugdale (known for his work with Adele and The Rolling Stones), the feature captures highlights from the band’s three-night run at the Foro Sol in Mexico City back in October 2022. The film is set for a worldwide theatrical premiere on November 4, with ticket pre-orders having officially launched on September 23. Following the theatrical screening, a companion live album featuring the performances will be released on November 20.
In 1994, the German Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein was founded in Berlin. Throughout their history, the band has maintained the same lineup: lead singer Till Lindemann, lead guitarist Richard Kruspe, rhythm guitarist Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and keyboardist Christian “Flake” Lorenz. They also have a consistent songwriting process, with Lindemann writing and singing the lyrics over instrumental compositions that the other members of the band have already finished. Some members were involved with the punk rock groups Feeling B and First Arsch before they formed.
Following a local contest win, Rammstein recorded demos and secured a contract with Motor Music. Their debut album, “Herzeleid”, was produced by Jacob Hellner and released in 1995. While initial sales were low, the band’s live performances contributed to the album eventually reaching number six on the German charts. Their 1997 follow-up, “Sehnsucht”, debuted at number one in Germany. This release was accompanied by a nearly four-year worldwide tour, the production of the live album “Live aus Berlin” (1999), and the release of the singles “Engel” and “Du hast.“
Following their tour, Rammstein signed with Universal Music and released the album “Mutter” in 2001. The album produced six singles, all of which charted in various European countries; the lead single, “Sonne,” reached number two in Germany. In 2004, Rammstein released “Reise, Reise”, which included two singles that reached number two in Germany: “Mein Teil” and “Amerika.” “Mein Teil” also reached number one in Spain, marking the band’s first number-one single.
