Queens of the Stone Age has cancelled all of its planned European festival gigs this month due to a very genuine and dangerous circumstance. According to the band’s statement, frontman Josh Homme was flown back to the United States for “emergency surgery.” The band was set to begin their festival run at the Jardin Sonore Festival, however, that date, as well as all dates booked until July 27th at the Athens Rocks Festival, have been cancelled. At this point, we don’t know if that includes the band’s planned gig in the Paris catacombs, but we could ponder it has also been cancelled. The band provided the following statement:

QOTSA regret to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery. Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue. Ticket holders for festivals, please visit the specific festival website for updated information. Ticket holders for headline shows will be contacted directly from the point of purchase with further information.

On behalf of the Chaoszine team, we wish Josh a speedy recovery!
