A crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo reveals that the Swedish dark 80s style synth-pop band Priest, which partly consists of former band members of the Swedish rock heavyweights Ghost, is working on a documentary, entitled “DECODED: A Priest Doc”. Said crowdfunding campaign was launched by Artax Film, the Swedish film production company behind “DECODED: A Priest Doc”, which was also in charge of the filmic biography about Behemoth frontman Adam Nergal Darski, “Adam The Apostate”. Behind Artax Film is creative director Claudio Marino, who has directed, amongst other things, Priest‘s music videos for “Obey“, “Thieves“, “Nightcrawler” and “Demon’s Call” as well as music videos for bands like Behemoth, Watain, Tribulation, Katatonia and Electric Boys. According to Artax Film, “DECODED: A Priest Doc” is “a deep dive into the band’s journey, chronicling their rise, evolution, and the creative process behind their upcoming album”:
“From their origins to their globe-trotting tours, and from candid behind-the-scenes moments to the highs and lows of studio sessions, this documentary will bring fans closer than ever to Priest’s world. Years of archival footage have already been compiled, and the band is about to embark on a U.S. tour with a film crew in tow.” – Artax Film
Since the realisation of the documentary “requires significant resources”, the support of this crowdfunding campaign is of great importance for the project.
