Today is the day that Placebo‘s 8th studio album “Never Let Me Go” will be released via Elevator Lady Limited. In honour of the occasion, Placebo have announced a total of five intimate album release shows. The first album release show took place two days ago, in Paris. The remaining four shows will take place in Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels and London. And like Jack White, Placebo have decided to keep all their album release shows phone-free:

“All the Placebo intimate album release shows will be a phone-free experience. Use of phones, smart watches, cameras and other recording devices will not be permitted in the performance space. The hope is to enjoy the experience between band and audience, and be in the moment. Upon arrival at the venue, all phones, smart watches, cameras and other recording devices will be secured in individual Yondr pouches that will be opened at the end of the event. Guests maintain possession of their devices at all times, and can access them throughout the event only in designated phone use areas within the venue. All devices will be re-secured in Yondr pouches before returning to the performance space. […] Anyone seen using a device during the performance will be politely escorted out of the venue by security. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free experience. Enjoy the show.”– Placebo

“Never Let Me Go” marks the first album which Placebo founders Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal recorded as a duo, following the departure of drummer Steve Forrest in 2015. So far, four singles have been released from “Never Let Me Go”: “Beautiful James“, “Surrounded By Spies“, “Try Better Next Time” and “Happy Birthday In The Sky“. If you missed the latter, you can check out its official visualiser below. Furthermore, Chaoszine recently chatted with Stefan Olsdal. You can read the interview here.
