Jack White to tour Europe in 2022 with a special tradition

Jack White, former half of The White Stripes as well as band member of The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, is set to tour in the US, the UK and Europe in 2022. The dates can be seen below:

While Northern European countries are sadly not covered by the tour schedule, one could of course always consider a trip to another European country, especially since Jack White seems to be continuing a special tradition at his concerts: All gigs will be phone-free.

Already in 2014, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Jack White explained that he was “getting a little bit disgruntled, or worried, about the state of live shows”:

“People can’t clap anymore, because they’ve got a fucking texting thing in their fucking hand, and probably a drink, too! Some musicians don’t care about this stuff, but I let the crowd tell me what to do. There’s no set list. I’m not just saying the same things I said in Cleveland last night. This is a unique experience. If they can’t give me that energy back? Maybe I’m wasting my time.”

For his subsequent solo tour in 2018, the idea of phone-free concerts was implemented:

“No photos, video or audio recording devices allowed. We think you’ll enjoy looking up from your gadgets for a little while and experience music and our shared love of it IN PERSON. Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and other photo or video-capturing gizmos will be secured in a Yondr pouch that will be unlocked at the end of the show. You keep your pouch-secured phone on you during the show and, if needed, can unlock your phone at any time in a designated Phone Zone located in the lobby or concourse. The concept of phone-free concerts was also adopted for the 2019 tour of The Raconteurs.

Jack White is going to release not only one but two solo albums in 2022 via Third Man Records: “Fear Of The Dawn” on 8 April 2022 and “Entering Heaven Alive” on 22 July 2022.
