Pantera is set to return to the stage next year with a major world tour. The band will be joined by Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society and Charlie Benante of Anthrax, replacing the late “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott and Vinnie Paul Abbott.
The Pit interviewed the band’s singer Phil Anselmo back in February, asking him his opinion on how the Abbott brothers would feel about Pantera doing a reunion tour without them.
“Dimebag and Vince always wanted this band to be a legacy band, to be massive, to be our own conduit to success, simply put. I think Dime and Vince — I know Dime and Vince — would want the legacy and the name of Pantera to go on and on and on and in everybody’s damn face. I know that for sure. Abso-fucking-utely, dude. That would be their biggest dream.”
