Periphery announce temporary lineup change

This month, Djent purveyors Periphery will tour Europe and the UK sans guitarist, programmer Jake Bowen, as per theprp. A family member “dealing with a various serious illness” was the cause of the predicament, according to a video message released by the latter yesterday, June 8. Instead, Bowen has started recording performances of his parts for the group’s planned setlist for these performances with the approval of his bandmates. These recordings will serve as background tracks for his parts for the duration of the run. “A Pale White Dot,” Periphery’s eighth studio album, was released on May 15th, a few weeks ago.

Misha Mansoor, a guitarist, founded Periphery in 2005. He gradually established a presence on the Internet through the Meshuggah and John Petrucci forums, the sevenstring.org discussion boards, and a regularly maintained Soundclick account. Prior to and throughout Periphery‘s involvement in the metal scene, Mansoor established a reputation for producing most of his own audio using a Pod XT and a home computer. Mansoor has been updating Bulb, his side project, and frequently moves music between the two. Mansoor is still working on several additional musical endeavors, such as Of Man Not of MachineHaunted Shores, and Four Seconds Ago.
