Now revealed what is the mystery teasing from The Mars Volta

The Mars Volta revealed an intriguing interactive project after the countdown clock on their mysterious website expired on June 9, as per theprp. The website, which is now housed at ublsl.themarsvolta.com, has been thoroughly examined by ardent admirers. Most people assume that the band is working on a live CD for their most recent album, “Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacio,” which was released in 2025. Last year, The Mars Volta performed it in its entirety during their touring cycle, which included an arena tour with Deftones and other bands. This new website and apparent live release seems to be an attempt to revitalise that record, which leaked out before it was announced and was subsequently released by the band with minimal fanfare.

In order to achieve this, it appears that the band is presently giving fans the opportunity to vote on which live performances will be included on the rumoured live record, along with audio sneak peeks of a few of those performances. There is a slight twist in the mysterious symbolism utilised to represent the numerous towns at play, possibly in an attempt to prevent supporters from simply voting for their local shows. Fans, though, appear certain that they have already figured that out.

American progressive rock group The Mars Volta was founded in 2001. Omar Rodríguez-López (guitar, producer, directing) and Cedric Bixler-Zavala (vocals, lyrics) are the only consistent members of the band, and their collaboration serves as its foundation. In addition, Omar’s brother Marcel Rodríguez-López (keyboards, synths, percussion), Leo Genovese (piano, keyboard, saxophone), Linda-Philomène Tsoungui (drums), and original member Eva Gardner (bass) are currently on the lineup. After Rodríguez-López and Bixler-Zavala’s former band, At the Drive-In, broke up, The Mars Volta—known for their upbeat live performances and concept albums—was founded. The Mars Volta was formed by Rodríguez-López and Bixler-Zavala with the help of Gardner, Isaiah “Ikey” Owens (keyboards), Jon Theodore (drums), and Jeremy Ward (sound manipulation) in an effort to experiment and broaden their sound.
