Exciting news is brewing for Rammstein fans. This week, five brand-new song titles from the German industrial metal giants have been officially added to the database of GEMA (the German society for musical performing and mechanical reproduction rights).
While the band has not yet made any official announcements regarding new material or a potential successor to their 2022 album “Zeit”, the registration of these tracks has immediately ignited speculation worldwide. Historically, song registrations on GEMA are one of the earliest signs that a band is preparing for a new release cycle or studio project.
Fans are already on high alert, eagerly waiting to see what Till Lindemann and company have in store next.
The song titles are: “Ja Nein Rammstein“, “Wir Sind Wir”, “Besser Als“, “Hätte Hätte” and “Sei Still“.
“Ja Nein Rammstein” is the well-known chorus of “Ramm4” – a still unreleased song, which was played live from 2016-2019 and again in 2024. “Wir Sind Wir”, “Besser Als” and “Hätte Hätte” are entirely unknown song titles.
“Sei Still” is a title seen in 2018 at a creative session with Zebra, a marketing agency invited for inspiration on artworks and album concept. An artwork sketch featured the title in Rammstein typography and a slightly altered background taken from the movie poster of “Exodus Gods and Kings”. – This setting has been replicated and can be seen in the making of photosession for the untitled album with Jes Larsen, but it remains unused so far.
In 1994, the German Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein was founded in Berlin. Throughout their history, the band has maintained the same lineup: lead singer Till Lindemann, lead guitarist Richard Kruspe, rhythm guitarist Paul Landers, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and keyboardist Christian “Flake” Lorenz. They also have a consistent songwriting process, with Lindemann writing and singing the lyrics over instrumental compositions that the other members of the band have already finished. Some members were involved with the punk rock groups Feeling B and First Arsch before they formed.
