Mumford & Sons released their debut album back in 2009, when they were instrumental in bringing one of the oldest genres of popular music into a new century by uniquely combining classic folk with the heady, euphoric sound usually associated with rock bands. It was the beginning of an incredible journey.

Four albums later, the band have won numerous awards for their work, including two BRIT Awards and two GRAMMY Awards (including ‘Album Of The Year’). Their albums, some of which have gone platinum, have topped the charts worldwide, and they have headlined festivals such as the legendary Glastonbury and sold-out arenas on their own tours. And that’s not all: Mumford & Sons and their unique sound have long been a major influence and source of inspiration for younger artists who are now successful in their own right. Comparable career paths are rare.

In the years since their previous album “Delta”, Mumford & Sons have taken time for solo passions and to reconnect with old friends and collaborators. In the course of some particularly productive and inspired songwriting sessions, they found their way back to the magic of their early days in a leafy London suburb…

Rushmere is where it all began for Mumford & Sons. It was by this pond, located on Wimbledon Common in South West London, that Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwane met when they first discussed the idea of starting a band together. Rushmere was as familiar to them as the instruments they played and has a place at the heart of their Origin Story.

Rushmere’ now marks the beginning of the next phase for Mumford & Sons and follows an intense creative period for the trio, preceded by their split from Winston Marshall in 2021. The album is an emphatic return.

Rushmere’ was produced by six-time GRAMMY award-winning Dave Cobb and recorded at RCA Studio A in Nashville, Savannah, GA and Marcus’ own studio in Devon, UK.

After the release of “Delta”, Marcus Mumford dedicated himself to his solo debut, which was released in the fall of 2022. In 2024, Mumford & Sons released the single “Good People”, a collaboration with Pharrell.

Mumford & Sons are Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwane.
