Mudvayne hoping to work on new material “Soon”

Progressive nü-metal outfit Mudvayne‘s ongoing reunion apparently won’t be limited to a nostalgia trip. It would appear that new material from the gold-certified outfit is also in the cards, according to the band’s frontman Chad Gray.

In a recent interview with Avenged Sevenfold bassist Johnny Christ via his ‘Drinks With Johnny‘ podcast, Gray spoke of his band’s potential future output. Addressing the upcoming Avenged Sevenfold album and his desire to hear it, Gray stated:

I’m really excited to hear [Avenged Sevenfold‘s] new shit and Mudvayne is hopefully going to be working on some new shit soon, too. So awesome. I can’t wait to definitely get our heads together. Maybe we could do some do some touring or something someday.

Mudvayne‘s last release was their self-titled 2009 album. The outfit will be back out on the road this summer as part of the ‘Freaks On Parade Tour‘. Rob Zombie will headline that run, which will also feature opening sets from Static-X and Powerman 5000.
