According to a new interview Mötley Crüe‘s Nikki Sixx recently gave to Los Angeles Times the band approached Van Halen‘s David Lee Roth to be the opening band for their upcoming “The Stadium Tour” but the singer had refused the offer by saying he doesn’t open for bands that he influenced.

“The Stadium Tour”, which also features Poison, Def Leppard and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts was originally scheduled to take place last summer but ended up being pushed back to 2021, and then to 2022, due to the coronavirus crisis.

“The Stadium Tour” will mark the Mötley Crüe‘s first live dates since wrapping its 2014/2015 farewell tour. Mötley Crüe toured with Poison back in 2011 and Def Leppard teamed up with Poison for a string of road dates in 2017 — but the upcoming jaunt marks the first time all four acts have hit the road together for an extended tour.
