English singer Morrissey has cancelled this weekend’s concerts in the USA to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “You Are The Quarry” and even cancelled his upcoming Latin American tour, which had been rescheduled for a second time. Not a surprise, isn’t it?
Moz was scheduled to perform these special concerts at the Honda Center in Anaheim on Friday 26 January and at the Kia Forum in Inglewood on Saturday 27 January. Both venues have announced cancellations due to “unforeseen circumstances“. Tickets will be automatically refunded.
This month’s six shows in Latin America have also been cancelled, with Morrissey’s tour manager Donnie Knutson sharing this statement on Instagram:“Morrissey is receiving medical supervision for physical exhaustion. He has been ordered to rest for two weeks, and he will remain in Zurich.”
The former The Smiths frontman is known to have a history of cancelling shows. In April last year, he pulled the plug on his show at London’s Crystal Palace on July 9, before announcing a UK and Ireland tour for the same month as the Crystal Palace concert. On July 9 itself, Morrissey cancelled the new show scheduled for that day – this time at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall. For both cancellations, the venues cited “unforeseen circumstances“.
