Jesse Heikkinen, the guitarist of Finnish psychedelic forest folk rock band Hexvessel has launched a doom metal super group ABBEY. Along with guitarist / vocalist Jesse Heikkinen the band features vocalist Natalie Koskinen (Shape Of Despair), guitarist Janne Markus (The Man-Eating Tree / ex-Poisonblack), drummer Vesa Ranta (ex-Sentenced / ex-The Man-Eating Tree) and bassist Henri Arvola.

The group has posted a one minute long teaser about the project and you can check it out below:

The band has offered the following about their formation:

“Finland emerges a new relic of vintage doom, a harmonious coalescence of spirit and lore. Thus begins Abbey, a merging of the unmergable paradigm of heavy doomed riffs with a melodic sensibility that by design affirms life rather than denying it. This is music for the monumental, the regal stride of unbroken men of war and the nobility of mystic legend.Where previous doom has crumbled into the lasting dust of centuries, Abbey constructs new temples to marvel and splendour from the highest spires, where the wings of the spirit catch the passing winds of fated sorrows reconciled.”

Abbey 2021:
