Is Lee McKinney turning the page on his career with Born of Osiris? That’s the question fans have been asking lately, as the guitarist has been noticeably absent from the band’s current European tour and hasn’t made any public appearances with the group in some time.

Fuel was added to the fire when McKinney briefly posted an update on X (formerly Twitter), hinting that his time with Born of Osiris might be over and teasing that a new band is on the way. Although the post was quickly deleted, fans managed to grab screenshots — and speculation has been swirling ever since.

That new project appears to be called Dead Air Divine. It features none other than former Dance Gavin Dance vocalist Tilian Pearson, along with producer Matt Malpass, who’s known for his work with various alternative and post-hardcore acts. While details about the band or its musical direction are still under wraps, the group already has an official Instagram page up and running.

So far, Born of Osiris hasn’t made any public comments regarding McKinney’s absence or his possible plans going forward.
