The powerhouse collaboration between Netta Laurenne (Smackbound) and Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast) is set to unleash their second album together. The duo, known as Laurenne/Louhimo, will release “Falling Through Stars” on April 18th through Frontiers Records. To mark the announcement, they’ve unveiled their first single “Damned” accompanied by a music video.
The project features an impressive lineup of musicians including Mikko Kosonen, Nino Laurenne, Sampo Haapaniemi, Pasi Heikkilä, and Vili Itäpelto alongside the two vocalists. Commenting on the new single, Netta explains:
“Damned represents the album’s more traditional and classic metal and rock side. It’s packed with energy and attitude, and we wanted to create a music video featuring us performing alongside the musicians who appear on the album. The song explores the struggle with inner demons, depression, and self-doubt – while also reflecting the determination to rise above them.”
Speaking about the album, Laurenne shares:
“Falling Through Stars is our second record collaborating with Noora Louhimo. It gave us the opportunity to step both inside and outside our comfort zones and meet in the middle. We had fun making the record, which I co-produced with my husband Nino Laurenne.”
“This album takes us on a journey through metal’s past and future. We aimed to incorporate different styles, instruments, and emotions from the 70s to the present day. It’s a dynamic album showcasing both raw power and tender moments, and we’re excited to share it with everyone.”
Pre-orders for “Falling Through Stars” are now available.
