Kriigerkvlt, a new collective formed in 2025 around Heilung founding member Kai Uwe Faust, have signed to Season of Mist. To mark the deal, the group releases their first official single, “Mahakala”, today.

The collective recently debuted live in Copenhagen alongside industrial doom raver John Cxnnor and occult feminist black metal band Witch Club Satan. They premiered their collaborative track “Hypothermia” at that show. Kriigerkvlt operate without ties to a specific genre, cultural identity, or historical period. Their sonic palette spans harsh gutturals, throat singing, drone, piano, harp, marimba, guitar, and nyckelharpa.

“Mahakala” centers on a wrathful protective deity from Tibetan Buddhism, also revered in the Bön shamanic tradition. Faust frames the single as a confrontation with the self rather than an act of spectacle, describing the figure’s black fire as symbolic of consuming attachment, delusion, and ego. The video, directed and filmed by Faust, was edited by Christian Medea and Anda Lupulet.

Faust cites Heilung‘s relationship with Season of Mist as a key reason for the signing, pointing to the label’s track record of supporting artistic freedom. “Mahakala” streams now via all major platforms. The music video is up on the Season of Mist YouTube channel.
