Australian psychedelic rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced that they will release their anticipated new orchestral album “Phantom Island” already next week on April 15th. It’s a project that the band has been working on for two years. The album follows the release of last years “Flight b741” and is the 27th studio album produced by the band.
The band will embark on a summer tour of the US in July, starting in Philadelphia. As a special feature, each show will feature a 28-piece orchestra. In conjunction with the release of the tour, the band also released the song “Phantom Island”, which also serves as the title track and opening track for the new album. The song combines the band’s familiar psychedelic sound with the orchestra’s grandiose playing.
