Japanese metal band Jiluka kicked off their K4RMA: The Return tour in Helsinki last week.

Kulttuuritehdas Korjaamo was the place where 600 people gathered and where the band demonstrated its ability to hook fans around the world.

Jiluka’s proposal is fresh, and its style is authentic; the group combines the talent of the singer Ricko, guitarist Sena, bassist Boogie and drummer Zyean. They experiment within their sound with electronic influences and death/metalcore sounds, and they show a variety of emotions in their lyrics that range from aggressive to melodic and their inherent Japanese touch.

They are a kind of modern visual kei metal. The band’s aesthetic and appearance complement the energy of its versatile musicians and the power of its vocalist. Overall, the band’s stage presence is the key to opening doors for them outside their country.

Helsinki was the first stop on this tour, which consists of six cities in Europe. It was a worthy start, as the attendees witnessed a dynamic, thunderous, and one could even say, affectionate show between the musicians and their followers.

The energy reached its peak when each member offered a few words to the audience. Towards the end of the concert, they asked everyone to close with a mosh pit that, although discreet, demonstrated the chemistry between Jiluka and its fans.
