“It Takes The Village” to make a great album – review of the upcoming release by Who On Earth

Author Benedetta Baldin - 1.5.2026

With “It Takes The Village”, New Jersey heavy metal firestarters Who On Earth return with a second full-length that doubles down on everything that made their debut compelling — but with more confidence, more muscle, and a clearer sense of identity. Across 12 tracks of high-octane riffing, the band deliver a record that feels like a celebration of their roots and a declaration of who they’ve become.

Who On Earth refuse to box themselves in: classic heavy-metal swagger, modern crunch, hard-rock hooks, and even touches of groove metal collide in a way that feels natural rather than forced. We like variety, but it has to be done properly. And this band certainly knows how to do this! So if your playlists feel a bit like they need new stuff, this would be perfect.

The mixing, mastering, and overall production are very well done. It’s important to me to listen to a quality product, and Who On Earth don’t disappoint here either. For a band still early in their discography, the sonic quality is impressive — polished enough for modern metal listeners, but still raw enough to retain the band’s edge.

“It Takes The Village” is a great album because it knows exactly what it wants to be: a heavy, energetic, no-nonsense metal record made with passion, skill, and a refusal to play it safe. The songs are better, the performances are better, and the band’s identity is clearer than ever. My favorite track? The wonderful closing track, “The Unbeaten“!

In conclusion, “It Takes The Village” is a solid, high energy second chapter for Who On Earth — well produced, well performed, and packed with riffs that hit as hard as the band’s conviction. It’s a record that embraces growth without abandoning the raw spirit that defines them, proving that five years of building have led to something powerful. A confident, hard hitting release from a band ready to take the next step.
