Imminence release new song “God Fearing Man” with music video

Author Benedetta Baldin - 8.3.2025

Thanks to their album “The Black”, released on April 12, 2024, Imminence have firmly established themselves as one of the most in-demand acts in modern alternative music. Their first full, largely sold-out US headline tour, a sold-out European tour and their first Australian headline shows, which sold out in record time, cemented their spectacular success. 2024 was an exceptional year for the Swedes in every way. They kicked off 2025 with an almost completely sold-out headline tour of Scandinavia, and now the release of “The Return of the Black”, the extended edition of their latest album, is imminent. The hard-hitting single “God Fearing Man” and the accompanying music video set the tone for Imminence’s new year.

It follows “Death Shall Have No Dominion“, one of the most extreme compositions in the band’s repertoire, and powerfully lifts listeners out of their gloom. The characteristic string arrangements, led by vocalist and violinist Eddie Berg, combined with the crushing instrumental foundation, show a further refinement of Imminence’s distinctive sound, which fans aptly describe as “violincore”.

In addition to these new singles, “The Return of The Black” expands on the original album with new versions of songs featured on it with guest musicians including Lucas Woodland (Holding Absence), Niklas Karlsson (Orbit Culture), Joel Holmqvist (Aviana), Scott Kennedy (Bleed From Within) and Tim Charles (Ne Obliviscaris).

The extended edition also includes two brand new remixes by producer and longtime collaborator VAAAL and an exclusive cover of the title track by Jiluka, the support act for Imminence on their highly anticipated North American tour this spring. The album concludes with the haunting instrumental “La Douleur Qui Est Sans Fin“, the final chapter of The Black.

With a combined 1,000,000 online followers, over 400,000,000 streams and sold out shows around the world, Imminence underline just how far they’ve come in the last decade. The next step after the upcoming festival season will be their first European arena headline shows. “The Black Finale” is a brand new show concept presenting the band in selected cities.
